We’re proud to share the success of our team, who developed the complete project documentation, provided expert supervision, and managed the construction process for the reconstruction of the “Radnički Univerzitet” building — now known as the “VEGA IT Palace” — located on Vojvođanskih Brigada Street in Novi Sad.
An investment by the company VEGA IT, valued at around 17 million euros, the project involved the reconstruction of a former city landmark — a 13-story building transformed into approximately 6,500 m² of completely new workspace for over 550 employees.
The architectural concept design was created by the team of Kuzmanov and Partners – who, through a vision of preserving the verticality and identity of the original building, successfully integrated a modern glass frame and greenery in the form of a “curtain” on the façade. TIM Inženjering Sistem played a key role as the lead designer of architecture, structure, and installations — including specialized fire protection systems, such as the high-pressure water mist system, which represents one of the first implementations of its kind in Serbia.
The reconstruction process began in late 2021, and by the end of 2023, the façade and roof were completed — followed by interior works and the landscaping of the plazas in front of and behind the building. The project and construction were successfully brought to completion, and the building was officially opened in late November with an exhibition titled “Then and Now” by academic painter Svetlana Ninković held in the lobby — symbolizing a new beginning for the cultural and business life of the city.
Our contribution to this prestigious project:
- Extensive research, including archival documentation as well as on-site investigations and surveys, aimed at providing the most detailed and accurate representation of the existing condition.
- Detailed project documentation and coordination of all reconstruction works.
- Implementation of advanced protection systems and installations within a building featuring complex infrastructure.
